This article in the Toronto Star details the experience of a reporter trying to use transit for her daily commute. The headline isn’t fantastic: “Taking the bus to work is far from a joyride” — but the Mississauga and York Region properties shouldn’t worry. Suburban transit is difficult, and the more honest reporting on the state of transit, the better. It helps to document the case for better zoning and capital investments (like BRT or signal prioritization) that improve suburban bus service.

It’s a good idea for transit properties to pitch the transportation beat writer or a regular human interest columnist to try transit as the basis for a story or a column. Just about any press is good press.
